The “Big, Beautiful Act” has intensified the conflict between President Trump and tech tycoon Elon Musk. Trump told the media on the 1st that he would consider how to deport Musk back to South Africa.

Earlier on the 1st, Trump wrote on the social media “Truth Social” that he might order the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), originally led by Musk, to conduct an audit of federal government contracts worth tens of billions of dollars contracted by Musk’s companies.

When asked by the media whether Musk would be deported to his home country of South Africa, Trump replied: “We will take a look.” Trump then said that he might ask the Department of Government Efficiency to investigate Musk.

Trump said: “Do you know what the Government Efficiency Department is? The Government Efficiency Department is a monster. One day, it may turn around and eat Musk. Wouldn’t that be too tragic? He has many businesses.”

Musk, the world’s richest man, posted a series of posts on social media on the 30th to criticize the “Big, Beautiful Act” and said that if Republican congressmen voted in favor of the bill, they would face challenges in the primary elections next year.

The “Big, Beautiful Act” is undergoing a marathon “vote-a-rama” process in the Senate, and the vote entered the fourth day on the 1st.

Trump posted on “Real Social” at 0:34 on the 1st that Musk received federal government subsidies “maybe more than all human beings in history.” If he loses the subsidies, Musk may have to close his business and return to his hometown in South Africa.

Trump wrote: “No more rocket launches, satellites or electric car production, our country can save a lot of money.”

Trump wrote that the Government Efficiency Department should thoroughly investigate Musk’s business, “huge funds can be saved as a result.”

Musk responded on X platform 30 minutes after Trump posted: “I say delete it all. Delete it now.”
