70-year-old Weng had his wallet robbed at Tianjing Plaza, police hunt for teenage suspect

According to the report from the 109th Precinct of the New York Police Department, the crime occurred at about 6:15 p.m. on May 29 at the entrance of Skyview Plaza at 40-24 College Point Blvd. At the time, a 72-year-old man was standing inside the mall. The teenager approached from behind, suddenly snatched the wallet from his hand and fled, running away on foot along Roosevelt Ave. towards Citi Field.
The police pointed out that the victim was not injured and the stolen wallet contained eight dollars in cash and multiple bank cards. The New York Police Department has classified the case as a Grand Larceny and released surveillance footage of the suspect to seek assistance.
According to the police description, the suspect has a light complexion and black hair. The last time he was seen, he was wearing a blue hooded top, black and gray camouflage pants, dark sneakers, and a gray backpack.
According to the latest crime statistics report (CompStat), as of the 15th, the 109th Precinct has reported 414 major thefts this year, a decrease of 193 cases from 607 cases in the same period last year, a decrease of 31.8%.
