A worker in Thailand found a woman covered in black in a barrel of asphalt while working on a roadside construction site. He thought it was a murder scene and called the police. Only then did he find that the woman still had signs of life. What’s even more bizarre is that after investigation, the police found that the woman had just donated her tricycle and rice to the temple before the incident, as if there was a sign.
The incident happened in Khok Samrong District, Lopburi Province, Thailand. A worker, Chanon, found a barrel of asphalt on the roadside on the 22nd. Inside it was a woman covered in black and with a shaved head. At first, he thought it was a corpse and called the police. It was not until the police and firefighters arrived that they found that the woman was still alive. However, due to the sticky asphalt, they could not pull the woman out with their bare hands. In the end, they sent the woman and the barrel to the hospital, and cut the woman out of the hospital.
Based on the documents in her clothes, the police confirmed that the woman was 47-year-old Saranthorn. She is currently in critical condition and is still receiving treatment in the intensive care unit.
According to Thai media Channel 7, after checking the surveillance footage, the police found that Saranthorn went to the famous local Wat Phra Sriratanaphacharan that afternoon. She not only donated rice, but also “offered” the three-wheeled motorcycle she rode to the temple. Although the monks were confused at the time, they still accepted the donation, but they did not expect such an outcome.
The local engineering unit said that the asphalt barrels at the scene were part of the road construction, and it was not clear why the woman appeared at the construction site. The police are still clarifying whether she entered the barrels on her own or whether there was other external forces involved.
