The British BBC reported that as the border conflict between Thailand and Cambodia continued, many countries warned their people not to travel to areas near the Thai-Cambodian border.
The British Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office pointed out that Preah Vihear Temple, Ta Moan Thom Temple and Ta Krabei Temple are disputed areas between Thailand and Cambodia. They said: “People should be extra careful when traveling in these areas and follow the instructions of local governments.”
Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and the United States have also updated their travel warnings, urging travelers to avoid areas where armed conflicts have occurred between the military. Hong Kong and China have also issued yellow alerts, the lowest of the three levels of alerts, for areas with “signs of threat.”
