A horrific case recently occurred in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India. A man spent 10 years searching for his enemy to avenge his mother, and eventually conspired with his friends to kill him. However, the murder case was solved due to a celebration party and social media photos.
According to NDTV, the police pointed out that the main suspect Sonu Kashyap witnessed his mother being beaten and humiliated by a man because of a dispute 10 years ago, and the man then fled the place. Since then, Sonu has been holding a grudge and vowed revenge. For many years, he searched everywhere on the streets of Lucknow until about three months ago, when he finally found his enemy Manoj in the Munshi Pulia area of the city. The enemy was selling coconut water for a living.
After locking in the target, Sonu launched a meticulous plan, first secretly observing the other party’s whereabouts, and then looking for the opportunity to commit the crime. Due to lack of resources, he found four friends to join, on the condition that “a cocktail party will be held to celebrate after the success.” On May 22, when Manoj was alone after closing his shop, five people beat him with iron rods, severely injuring him. Manoj eventually died in hospital.
After the incident, the police obtained surveillance footage, but the whereabouts of the suspects were unknown. Unexpectedly, Sonu kept his promise and held a grand cocktail party for his accomplices to celebrate. The photos of the scene were leaked to social media platforms and became the key to the police’s investigation. One suspect was targeted because he was wearing the same orange T-shirt as when he committed the crime. The police followed the clues and compared the social media accounts, and finally arrested Sonu and his four accomplices.
The police announced the identities of the suspects, namely Sonu, Ranjeet, Adil, Salamu and Rehmat Ali. The case is currently being investigated for murder.
