According to South Korean media reports, former South Korean President Yoon Seok-yeol is suspected of sending a drone last year, targeting Kim Jong-un’s official residence No. 15, in an attempt to induce North Korea to attack South Korea. The prosecutors conducted a large-scale search of military institutions. If true, Yoon Seok-yeol will be charged with “foreign aggression”. In the same month that Yoon Seok-yeol sent the drone, North Korea blew up the railway connecting the two Koreas.

According to Dong-A Ilbo, Yoon Seok-yeol announced martial law at the end of last year, causing chaos in South Korean society. During the investigation, the special investigation team suspected that Yoon Seok-yeol increased the risk of armed conflict between North and South Korea and posed a threat to national security in order to create a reason for martial law.

According to reports, the South Korean legal community revealed that the special investigation team sent investigators to search military-related places such as the drone combat command for two consecutive days. The team obtained evidence. The prosecution has evidence showing that in November last year, senior military officials ordered drones to fly over Nampo City, North Korea. Someone in the military warned that Nampo City has dense military facilities and drones may be interfered with by GPS signals and crash. The prosecution said that the military leaders knew the possibility of a crash, but still sent drones to fly over Nampo City, which was probably intentional.

The report pointed out that Kim Byung-joo, a senior member of the Democratic Party of Korea, who was a general, said: “During the Yoon Seok-yeol administration, the drone combat command dispatched at least three times, a total of seven drones to North Korea, one of which fell in Pyongyang,” and “The target of the drone was the area around Kim Jong-un’s official residence No. 15.” Kim Byung-joo also pointed out that the dates of the three drone dispatches were: October 3, 2024, October 8, 2024, and November 13, 2024.

On October 15 last year, North Korea blew up the Donghae Line and Gyeongui Line railways connecting the two Koreas. The special inspection team suspected that this incident was because Yoon Seok-yeol sent drones to provoke. When Yoon Seok-yeol was questioned by the prosecution, he denied it on the spot.
