The New York Post reported that a teddy bear that looked like it was wrapped in human skin appeared on the streets of California, causing panic among the public and the police to intervene in the investigation, and even dispatched a forensic doctor to the scene for inspection. This terrifying doll was abandoned on the sidewalk, and it looked like a prop from a horror movie. It was initially judged to be a prank.
Local media reported that the San Bernardino County police in California received a report at noon on the 13th that “human remains” were found outside a convenience store on Bear Valley Road, and the police immediately rushed to the scene.
However, the scene was not a real body, but a teddy bear sitting on the sidewalk. The bear is different from ordinary plush toys. It has a leather texture and looks like human skin stretched and sewn on the doll. The bear’s face also has lips, nose and eye sockets that imitate humans, and the stitches are clearly visible, as if someone sewed human skin on the teddy bear, which is chilling.
The police immediately blocked off the convenience store and conducted on-site forensics. KTLA TV reported that no further results have been released yet.
However, this horrific commotion took a turn. DarkSeedCreations, a seller on the handicraft website Etsy, took the initiative to post on Facebook to admit that the teddy bear was indeed from its store and was made of latex. It was sold to a customer in Victorville last week, but the store emphasized that it was unaware of it and did not participate in the customer’s prank plan.
DarkSeedCreations is an Etsy store with a 4.5-star rating. It specializes in selling bizarre creations that incorporate human skin images, including ties printed with human faces, “human skin baseball caps” priced at $100, and the “human skin teddy bear” that caused the topic this time.
The product description reads: “Medium-sized teddy bears, covered with randomly distributed skin blocks, suitable for hugging to sleep or secretly putting them in other people’s beds.” Other products include eggs with fake eyeballs and fetal bone-style photo frames.
According to the Etsy website, the business has been in business for more than 8 years.
A forensic doctor arrived at the scene of the sidewalk teddy bear and took the teddy bear away for processing. The results of further examination have not yet been announced. Although the creator has come forward to explain, it is unclear whether the police will continue to investigate the matter.
