On the evening of July 10, tourist Mr. Zhu posted a video on a social platform saying that when his family was visiting Hongyadong in Chongqing, his niece encountered a local woman in red who forced her to sell her photo service. After she refused, the woman began to abuse her and cursed her very badly. Afterwards, both parties were taken away by patrol police for negotiation.
On the morning of July 13, the Chongqing Yuzhong District Culture and Tourism Development Committee made a preliminary report on the matter and expressed deep apologies for the bad experience brought to tourists.
On July 13, the Yuzhong District Culture and Tourism Development Committee issued another notice:
After investigation, it was found that Tang’s illegal solicitation of customers was true, and his attitude was bad during the solicitation, disrupting the order in public places and causing adverse social impact. The District Public Security Bureau imposed an administrative fine on Tang in accordance with Article 23 of the “Public Security Administration Punishment Law of the People’s Republic of China”. Chongqing Photography Industry Association has restricted Tang’s employment. Hongyadong Scenic Area has included Tang in the “blacklist” and prohibited him from engaging in business operations in Hongyadong Scenic Area.
Tang has deeply realized his mistakes and sincerely apologized to the tourists for his inappropriate behavior.
Yuzhong District has sent a working group to express condolences and apologies to tourists Zhu Moubo and his party for their poor experience in Hongyadong Scenic Area, and carefully listened to opinions and suggestions on standardizing the cultural tourism market and optimizing cultural tourism services, and actively absorbed them into the construction of high-quality cultural tourism development in Yuzhong District.
This incident exposed that Yuzhong District still has shortcomings and deficiencies in the management of the cultural tourism market. Yuzhong District will learn lessons and draw inferences from one case to another, conduct a comprehensive investigation of the chaos in the cultural tourism market in the district, formulate and introduce the “Ten Strict Prohibitions” measures for the systematic rectification of the cultural tourism market, and thoroughly investigate the illegal and irregular behaviors such as “charging for leading the way”, “soliciting customers”, and “meal-shilling” with a “zero tolerance” attitude. Behaviors that disrupt the market order and affect the city’s image will never be tolerated, and continue to take practical actions to create a safe, secure, and comfortable consumption environment and a safe, civilized, and orderly tourism order.
We sincerely thank the tourists and the general public for their concern, supervision and support for the cultural and tourism industry in Yuzhong District!
