During the tour, a 12-year-old boy was left on the scenic area bus and missed his stop. After the tour guide found him, he was suspected to be beaten by the child’s father in public. The boy’s uncle said that the tour guide did not count the number of people and had a bad attitude, which caused the conflict. Later, the other party claimed 70,000 yuan.

On July 4, a reporter from Huashang Daily Dafeng News confirmed from the police of Yulong Snow Mountain Scenic Area in Lijiang, Yunnan that the tourist who attacked had been found and the case was being investigated according to law.

On July 3, a tour guide in Lijiang, Yunnan posted that he took a group to Yulong Snow Mountain that day. After taking the Glacier Park Cableway at around 9 am, he led the tourists to Yunshanping Blue Moon Valley. A child fell asleep on the bus. When he found the person under the bus, the sightseeing bus had already left. He quickly took the bus to the next stop, Shuiyue Pavilion, and found the child who missed his stop in the police station. Finally, he brought the child back to the starting station of Blue Moon Valley.

The tour guide described in the online post: “As soon as I saw the guest, who was said to be the child’s father, he grabbed my neck and beat me. After I moved away, he beat me again and knocked me to the ground, hitting the railing next to me. I couldn’t stand up anymore, so I called the police to handle it. The ambulance took me to the Yulong Snow Mountain Tourist Rescue Center. Because I was dizzy and had stomach pain, I was later transferred to Lijiang People’s Hospital for further examination and treatment until 9:30 pm. During this period, only the police from the police station called to take notes and mediate. I didn’t see the tourists, their families, or the tourism authorities come to care and greet me. I even paid for the ambulance and all the expenses myself.”

On the morning of July 4, the reporter contacted an insider who confirmed that “the beating happened at the Blue Moon Valley parking lot. The child had already been to one stop. The tour guide finally took the child back and arrived at this stop. At this time, the child’s father saw the tour guide and beat him, and the child was taken by the mother.”

The insider said, ” The bus was the scenic spot’s bus. The tour guide led the group to the station and held up the flag to drive the bus. The bus continued to drive. There were 40 to 50 people on the bus, and there was no attendant on the bus. “

The insider believes that the child’s parents should fulfill their guardianship responsibilities. “The child fell on the bus, which has nothing to do with the tour guide. The child is not an adult, and both parents have to supervise him.”

The insider said: “The tour guide was beaten, and the relevant departments should come forward. Tourists can solve the problem if they have something to do, but they cannot hit the tour guide. The country has laws for violent acts of beating people in public places, and you can’t just hit them and then leave.”

The insider told the reporter, “The beaten tour guide is between 35 and 45 years old. He is from Lijiang, Yunnan. He is currently in the hospital. All medical examination expenses are paid by the tour guide himself. I hope there will be a fair treatment.”

On July 4, the reporter contacted the tourists. The man who answered the phone claimed to be the child’s uncle. He introduced that they had signed up for a small group in Lijiang, with a total of 11 people including adults and children, and the child who was left on the bus was 12 years old.

The child’s uncle admitted that he hit the tour guide. “The cause was the tour guide, not just the child. If he had a good attitude, we would not have hit him like this.”

The child’s uncle said: “It’s not as serious as he said. If it was serious, the person would definitely be controlled by the public security organs. Now we are still in the hotel outside to tell the truth. He is spreading rumors. The police station has now intervened in the investigation and is negotiating and mediating.”

The child’s uncle told reporters, “First, the tour guide asked us to shop, but we didn’t. His attitude changed drastically, from a good attitude to a bad attitude. From getting on the bus to getting off the bus, he never counted the number of people, and kept urging us when we got to the scenic spot. I took my wife and children out for a trip. I went to the toilet, at least waited until I came to take them on the bus, but he took them on the bus directly. They were suffering from altitude sickness in the car. As a tour guide, should he count the number of people after getting off the bus? Other large groups know to count the number of people, but we signed up for a family group and spent so much money, shouldn’t he count the number of people?”

The child’s uncle said that the small tour group charges 3,800 yuan for one adult, and the tour guide had a bad attitude after the incident.

“We adults were anxious at the time. If he had spoken in a better manner, it would have been fine. As a tour guide, he just stood there as if nothing had happened. If I hadn’t said a few words to him at the time, he would never have gone to find the child.”

The reporter wanted to interview the child’s father, and the child’s uncle responded: “The child’s father is not with me now. We are now waiting for the final mediation result of the police. No judicial appraisal has been done yet, and he asked for 70,000 yuan.”

On July 4, the reporter contacted the Yulong Snow Mountain Scenic Area to inquire about the progress of the matter. The staff said: “The tour guide has called the police, and the relevant law enforcement department will handle it. If the scenic area is monitored, only the law enforcement department can see it.”

The staff confirmed that the scenic area has a medical emergency center and the injured tour guide was bandaged at the time of the incident. The personal information of the beaten tour guide and the tourists involved is not convenient to disclose.

“We have a police station in our scenic area, and the police station has intervened. You can contact our Yulong Snow Mountain Police Station. We are now fully handing it over to the law enforcement department to handle it.”

The reporter then contacted the Yulong Snow Mountain Scenic Area Police Station, and the police confirmed that the tourist who committed the crime had been found and the surveillance footage of the scenic area where the incident occurred had been retrieved. “Yes, we are investigating and handling it according to the law.”

As for whether an injury assessment is needed, the police responded: “It depends on the person involved. The case is under investigation and there is no result yet. We will handle it according to the law and will not favor any party.”
