Mexican drug gangs fight among themselves, many people beheaded and left dead on the roadside

Mexican authorities said today that they found 20 bodies on a highway bridge, several of which were beheaded. The incident took place in the area of infighting between factions of the Sinaloa drug cartel, and the dead are suspected to be victims of the conflict.
AFP reported that the Sinaloa state prosecutor’s office said that four of the headless bodies were abandoned on the roadside, and the other 16 were found in an abandoned car.
A bag at the scene contained five severed heads; prosecutors pointed out that all the bodies showed signs of gunshot wounds.
However, local media said that the four headless bodies were hung upside down on the bridge, which is one of the common methods of criminal gangs, but this has not been officially confirmed.
Since 2006, violent crimes related to drug trafficking in Mexico have claimed nearly 480,000 lives and caused more than 120,000 people to go missing.
