The Nathan’s International Hot Dog Eating Contest, an important celebration of Independence Day in New York and the United States, will return to Coney Island in Brooklyn on July 4. Joey Chestnut, the most decorated contestant in the history of the contest, will return to Coney Island in the hope of winning the mustard belt again.

Nicknamed “Great White Shark,” Chestnut holds the record for the most hot dogs eaten in 10 minutes in the Major League Eating, 76. He temporarily bid farewell to the Coney Island competition last year. This year, he will return to compete against top players including last year’s champion Patrick Bertoletti.
Chestnut wrote on social media: “I’m so happy to be back on the Coney Island stage, doing the love of my life, celebrating the Fourth of July with a hot dog in my hand!” Chestnut’s return to Coney Island this year will undoubtedly make the event even more exciting.

It is reported that this hot dog eating competition will still be held in front of Nathan’s Famous Restaurant at the intersection of Surf Ave and Stillwell Ave in Coney Island on Independence Day this year, and no tickets are required to watch top diners from all over the world compete for the mustard belt.

The competition is expected to start at 1 pm. According to visitNYC, the number of people who come to watch the game on the 4th is expected to be between 35,000 and 50,000. If people want to be as close to the game as possible, it is best to arrive at 9 am to occupy a favorable position to watch the game.

If people drive to Coney Island to watch the hot dog eating competition on July 4, according to visitNYC, parking spaces will be occupied quickly, and parking fees will be between 15 and 25 yuan. If people choose to go by public transportation, they can take the D, F, N or Q line to Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue Station. These subway lines will run every 5 to 10 minutes on the 4th. If you are coming from Brooklyn, riding Citi Bikes is another option, and you can use the Ocean Parkway bike path to Coney Island to watch the game.

If you are too busy celebrating the holiday on the 4th to watch the live game, don’t worry. ESPN, which has been broadcasting this annual event since 2003, will start coverage at 10:45 a.m. on July 4 and continue until the end of the hot dog eating contest.
