About 100,000 people die in the United States each year due to abuse of fentanyl. The United States has always hoped to keep fentanyl out of the country. However, the United States has been unable to prevent fentanyl from being smuggled into the country, even though it has blocked the supply chain from Chinese factories at the source, Mexico at the manufacturing end, and Mexico and Canada at the smuggling end. Now, the loophole may have finally been found! Japanese media reported that a Chinese organization was suspected of using a base established in Japan to smuggle chemicals used to make the synthetic drug fentanyl to the United States.

In the classic American TV series Breaking Bad, there is a man behind the scenes called “Heisenberg”; in the real world, there is a boss-level “Japanese boss” in the fentanyl raw material world. In fact, he is a Chinese hiding in Okinawa, Japan. This “Japanese boss” issued instructions to the supply chain in China and the United States in Japan. He is the loophole for smuggling fentanyl raw materials to the United States!

Nikkei Asia reported that a key figure in this organization registered a company called Firsky KK in Nagoya, Japan, and at least until July last year, the company was still engaged in related operations from Japan, including instructing the shipment of fentanyl raw materials and fund management.

Central News Agency reported that the investigation found that Firsky KK had personnel and financial connections with the Chinese chemical manufacturer Hubei Amarvel Biotech, and several senior executives of this Chinese company were convicted by the US Federal District Court in New York in January this year, including conspiracy to import fentanyl precursors into the United States.

The investigation reviewed more than 100 U.S. court documents and found that one of Jingao’s investors was called the “Japanese boss,” a Chinese man who once revealed on social media that he lived in Naha, Okinawa, Japan.

According to business records, the man is a shareholder of 18 companies scattered in China, Japan and the United States, including Firsky KK, which he established. In addition to serving as the representative director of this company, he also holds a large number of shares and serves as a senior executive in many companies.

The report said that the man is likely to be the leader of the above-mentioned Chinese organization, and he is believed to have issued instructions to China and the United States from Japan.

Jingao executives convicted by the United States were accused of establishing a fentanyl smuggling network in Mexico and other countries, which means that Japan may become a channel for these transactions.

In other words, Japan may be at the forefront of the U.S. fentanyl crisis. Fentanyl abuse has become a serious problem in the United States, killing tens of thousands of people each year. And this crisis is also one of the fuses of the current confrontation between the United States and China.
