Russia is unhappy with the US’s surprise attack on Iran and warns Trump: Pandora’s box has been opened

Russia warns that US President Donald Trump has opened “Pandora’s box” with his surprise attack on Iran’s nuclear programme, and the Iranian regime has arrived in Moscow for talks.
Trump said a US squadron of stealth bombers had “taken the bomb away from Tehran” in a daring attack early yesterday morning. But Russia’s UN ambassador, Nebensay, warned at an emergency UN Security Council meeting: “No one knows what new disasters and sufferings this will bring.”
The Iranian foreign minister has arrived in Moscow for talks with Putin amid concerns that Iran could launch retaliatory terrorist attacks on the West. Nebensay claimed that Russia had offered to mediate negotiations to try to find a peaceful and mutually acceptable solution to the Iranian nuclear programme, but “the United States, especially its leaders, clearly have no interest in diplomacy today.”
Nebensay warned: “Unless we stop escalating, the Middle East will be plunged into a conflict of massive scale and unpredictable consequences, and the entire international security system and the world may be on the brink of a nuclear catastrophe.”
Trump dramatically called for the overthrow of the Iranian regime and held crisis talks with British Prime Minister Skjold on Sunday. He updated Truth Social on the status of the US military attack on Iran and suggested that the current Iranian regime “cannot make Iran great again.”
Trump asked in return: “Why not overthrow the regime?” Although he and Shkel also called on Iran’s Supreme Leader Khamenei to “return to the negotiation table as soon as possible.”
Former Russian President Medvedev posted on X early Sunday morning that the US military’s attacks on Isfahan, Natanz and Fordow were counterproductive and contrary to Trump’s original goals.
Medvedev declared: “Nuclear enrichment – and now it can be said frankly that the future production of nuclear weapons – will continue.” The former Russian president from 2008 to 2012 also said: “Iran’s political regime has survived – and it is likely to become stronger.”
He further claimed that even those who were indifferent or opposed to the regime are now “united around Iran’s spiritual leader.”
The anti-US, pro-Iran post was published in English and listed 10 points, and has been viewed more than 3 million times.
There are concerns that Britain and other allies may face terrorist reprisals from supporters of the Iranian regime.
