At least eight killed in hot air balloon fire in southern Brazil

On the morning of June 21, local time, a hot air balloon caught fire in Santa Catarina, southern Brazil, killing at least 8 people.

According to the local fire department, there were at least 22 people on the hot air balloon at the time of the accident. The governor of Santa Catarina said the accident has caused at least 8 deaths. A video circulating on local social media showed that after the hot air balloon caught fire in the sky, the basket quickly fell to the ground. Firefighters are currently conducting search and rescue work at the scene.

It is reported that the accident occurred in Praia Grande, a famous hot air balloon tourist destination in Santa Catarina.
