Great Parade | The 2nd Brooklyn Mid-Autumn Festival Parade and Asian Cultural Festival was a complete success

On October 5th, the second Brooklyn Mid-Autumn Festival Parade and Asian Cultural Festival, co-hosted by the Better Brooklyn Association, BBA, ANCA, Blue Community Relationship Association, BCRA, and iShare, took place as scheduled on Eighth Avenue. nearly 60 community groups, and tens of thousands of people celebrating the traditional Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival.

This grand parade garnered significant attention from mainstream American society, with over a dozen journalists from various ethnic groups in attendance to capture the highlights. Former New York City Governor Andrew Cuomo, currently running for mayor, and leaders from major Brooklyn political parties also attended the event. The event attracted students from numerous Brooklyn schools, allowing second- and third-generation Chinese Americans to learn about their own culture.

Ray Huang , president of the Better Brooklyn Association，BBA, stated that last year’s inaugural event was a resounding success. The Mid-Autumn Festival holds profound significance for the Asian American community, symbolizing reunion, sharing, care, and hope. Cultural heritage is particularly important for ethnic groups, and the power of culture transcends ethnic groups, fosters consensus, and promotes the integration of New York’s diverse cultures.

Ray Huang stated that since its founding in 2020, the Better Brooklyn Association, with the help of the community, has organized various activities, including the Mid-Autumn Festival parade, Spring Festival events, community cleanups, and after-school programs. The organization has grown into a vibrant nonprofit organization with hundreds of volunteers, closely aligned with community needs, and he hopes the organization will continue to contribute even more to the community.
