2 dead, 1 seriously injured in Dallas ICE office shooting; suspect commits suicide

A shooting occurred at a federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) office in Dallas today. According to the Dallas Police Department, a suspect shot three people, one of whom died at the scene and two others who were taken to the hospital, one of whom died and the other was seriously injured.

Reuters reported that police said the shooting occurred in northwest Dallas and responded to the scene around 7:30 a.m. local time.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem stated on social media that the multiple casualties resulted in the suspect’s fatal shooting.

According to local ABC News network WFAA, the suspect’s body was found on the roof of a nearby building.

Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons told CNN that preliminary information indicates the suspect was “a suspected sniper.”

Some media outlets reported that the victims were in critical condition.

An ICE spokesperson and the Dallas police did not immediately respond to Reuters’ inquiries regarding the incident.
