Uncle Wong Chau, a well-known gangster in Sin Yi On, fell to his death in Kien Shing Estate, Tuen Mun in June this year. His funeral was held today (20th) at the World Hall of the World Funeral Home in Hung Hom. Although it happened to be hit by Typhoon Wepa, it was still held as scheduled. At about 7pm, the wind had weakened and rain had stopped, most of the guests had entered the venue earlier, and a large number of plainclothes and uniformed police officers were on standby outside the door.
“Wong Chau”, whose full name is Wong Jin Chau, was arrested last year on suspicion of “participating in a rally of a triad society” after he was responsible for performing rituals in a “disbandment” ceremony. He was suspected to have been diagnosed with terminal lung cancer and could not bear the physical pain. He had the idea of committing suicide recently. He was dissuaded by his wife at the time, but he eventually fell to his death from a high building in mid-June while his wife was out shopping.
