Danny Bryan Park, located on the seaside of Seattle, has long been loved by nudists and LGBTQ+ groups. Public masturbation and other behaviors have occurred repeatedly. Now the court has ordered the temporary closure of the beach and requires the city government to propose an improvement plan within two weeks.
According to the Seattle Times, even though Danny Bryan Park is not an officially permitted nudist place, nudity has become commonplace in the park. What makes nearby residents even more upset is that many people regard the place as a place for public masturbation, sex, and drug use.
Live pornographic images taken by the public are circulated in social networks. Some people masturbate in groups on trees, some people urinate openly everywhere, some people expose their penises to female tourists, and even naked men sit on the hood of a car and masturbate for up to 6 hours. In March this year, 4 super public masturbation incidents were reported within a week.
Residents were dissatisfied with the city government’s inaction and filed a lawsuit. King County Superior Court Judge Samuel Chung announced on July 14 that the two-acre seaside park must be temporarily closed and the city government must come up with a plan within two weeks to address the ongoing masturbation and sexual activities.
