The case of three men and one woman who kidnapped and raped a 13-year-old girl was continued. The facts agreed by both the prosecution and the defense revealed that the female victim X had dated the second defendant in the case, Lin Youcheng, but it only lasted for a few days. The prosecution also played the video of the second defendant’s meeting with the police today (15th). The second defendant said that he knew that the first defendant had a feud with the victim X, but he still followed the first defendant’s instructions and made an appointment with X on Christmas 2021 because he was afraid that if he did not follow the first defendant’s instructions, the first defendant would “deal with” his family. The case was continued on Thursday (17th).
The four defendants: Chen Hongfeng (20 years old, a Form 2 student at the time of the incident), Lin Youcheng (19 years old, a car follower), Li Peiyi (18 years old), and Zhang Haoyu (20 years old, a student of the Vocational Training College). The four were charged with kidnapping, assault, and production of child pornography. Chen was charged with one count of rape. The incident took place from December 25 to 26, 2021, in a building unit on Hillwood Road, Tsim Sha Tsui.
Lin said he was afraid that he would be messed up if he didn’t obey his family
The prosecution played the video of the meeting between the second defendant, Lin Youcheng, and the police in court. Lin said that he knew that the 13-year-old female victim X had a feud with the first defendant, Chen Hongfeng, but he still followed Chen’s instructions and made an appointment with X on Christmas Day 2021. Lin explained that he chose to obey Chen’s request because he was afraid that Chen would “mess up” his family.
Lin is X’s ex-boyfriend
Both the prosecution and the defense admitted the facts that Lin was the ex-boyfriend of the victim X, X and the female defendant were also friends, and Lin and the fourth defendant were studying for a diploma course at the VTC Youth College. X will testify in this case, and she has been issued a letter of immunity from prosecution by the Department of Justice.
Cigarette butts at the scene of the unit contained the DNA of the first three defendants
The defendants were arrested on December 29 and 30, 2021. The female defendant remained silent under warning. X recognized all the defendants during the identification procedure. The police seized 12 cigarette butts at the scene of the unit involved in the case, and the test results showed the DNA of the first three defendants.
