The 13-year-old girl was taken to a crowded unit in Tsim Sha Tsui on Christmas Eve after being allegedly out for a friend. She was then forced to strip naked and get naked in front of many people. The girl’s mother notified a social worker to expose the incident after discovering her daughter had unusual injuries. Three men and one woman denied kidnapping and rape. The case started in the High Court today (14).
The first defendant was charged with rape
The four defendants: Chen Hongfeng (17 years old, secondary school student), Lin Youqiu (16 years old, following the car worker), Li Peiyi (15 years old, female), and Zhang Haoyan (17 years old, vocational training college student). The four were also charged with three counts of kidnapping, assault and production of child pornography, and Chan was solely charged with one count of rape.
The victim X had been dating the second defendant for several days
The opening statement said that victim X was only 13 years old at the time of the incident. She and her sister were raised by a single mother. After entering secondary school, X met a group of friends online, some of whom were members of the underworld. X and the second defendant, Lin Youqiu (nicknamed Panda), had been dating for several days and had broken up before the incident. The first three defendants knew each other. The fourth defendant was the “𡃁” of the first defendant, Chan Hong-fung.
X came forward as a friend and was chased for money with Chan Li
About 10 days before the incident, a female friend of X said she was forced to “fairy jump” by Chan (nicknamed Si Tiao). X argued with Chen through communication software, asking Chen not to harass her friends, but Chen accused X of causing him to lose $20,000 and asked X to pay back the money.
Forced to strip and get naked in public
On Christmas Day, Lin met X in Mong Kok, but Lin did not show up. After he pointed out who X was from a distance, Chan and others showed up to force X to take a taxi to the unit involved, otherwise they would beat her. After X was kidnapped to the unit, there were more than a dozen of Chen’s men present, as well as Lin. Chan and Lee forced X to take off his clothes and said, “If you don’t take them off, get someone to take them off for you.” X had to submit, when more than a dozen of his men were temporarily outside the room. When X undressed Chen’s men filmed the process, when X stripped naked, Chen’s men entered the room again, X naked in full view of the public.
X was showered with beer and tea
Afterwards, Lee and Chan’s men took turns punching and kicking X. Lee poured tea and beer on X’s head, and filmed a video asking X: “Will you get back CWK (X’s ex, Lee’s current)?” X said no.
After Chen finished, he gave 100 yuan X for a ride home
On the same night, Chan had taken X to a nearby bar to drink. After the two returned to the unit, Chan excused himself to discuss something, took X into the room and locked the door, forcing X to perform oral sex and rape X. Chan asked X to make a video and said, “I’m sorry for Brother Si Tiao (i.e. Chan).” He also asked X to say, “I have to pay back 20,000 to Brother Si Tiao before the 30th.” After that, Chan paid X $100 to take the bus home.
Dacheng took X to the flat and had sex for the time being
After X left the unit, he revealed the kidnapping and rape to other friends suspected of having a triad background. The man, Dacheng, said he could take X to a flat for temporary stay. The prosecution revealed that Dacheng was sentenced to one year in prison for illegal sexual intercourse with a girl under the age of 16.
Mother X discovered the unusual injury revealed incident
The prosecution said X’s mother contacted a social worker on December 27 after discovering X had unusual injuries and eventually exposed the incident. The prosecution alleges that the actions the defendant did to X were violent and illegal, extremely humiliating and caused X to suffer misfortune.
