
An Asian man is suspected of repeatedly sexually assaulting women passing by on the streets near Greenwich Village in Manhattan. The New York City Police Department (NYPD) recently issued a wanted notice and called on people with information to provide clues.
According to the police report, the suspect is suspected of committing crimes twice in May this year. The first crime was committed at around 2 a.m. on May 17. The suspect approached a 25-year-old woman at the intersection of West Houston Street and MacDougal Street in Manhattan, took out the map software on his mobile phone, and chatted with her in the name of asking for directions. Then he took advantage of the victim’s unpreparedness and grabbed her chest and waist with his hands, and then fled the scene.
The second crime was committed at around 1:50 a.m. on May 18. The suspect approached a 26-year-old woman from behind at the intersection of West Houston Street and Thompson Street, pushed her to the ground, touched her private parts through her clothes, and then fled the scene. The victim also suffered minor injuries.
According to the information and photos provided by the police, the suspect appears to be a young Asian male with light skin and black hair. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, black jeans and white sneakers.
