Tesla founder Musk’s artificial intelligence company xAI’s latest chatbot Grok4 has caused controversy. Some users have found that when responding to many controversial questions, Grok4 will quote Musk’s personal posts as the basis for replying, and even quote comments from extreme right-wing forums, praising anti-Semitism and Hitler. xAI said that this is because Grok4 speaks too much like a real person.
After leaving the Trump administration, Tesla founder Musk spent a huge amount of US$2 billion, or about NT$58.4 billion, to focus on the development of AI. However, Musk’s xAI’s artificial intelligence chatbot Grok has just launched the latest version of Grok4 and it has generated anti-Semitism and praised Hitler.
CNN News reported: “Grok chatbot said that Hitler could see the hatred pattern against white people and respond decisively.”
CNN further asked the chatbot where these comments came from, but it turned out to be from extreme right-wing forums. Some experts also found that when Grok4 answered controversial questions, it would first search for what Musk said.

xAI issued a statement saying that Grok made radical remarks because he had to reply to posts like a real person, but experts are worried that without protection, it may cause more problems.
New York Times technology reporter Isaac: “The chatbot launched by Musk has always had a big problem. Unlike OpenAI Anthropic or Meta, which set strict restrictions, he chose to let Grok have almost no protection fence.”
xAI claimed that the company deeply apologized for posting inappropriate posts and had corrected the system, but the new system had a problem just after it was launched, which also reminded netizens whether the former X-girl CEO Jacquelineau suddenly announced his resignation on the 9th, ending his two-year term, and whether it was also related to the chatbot.
CNBC News reported: “Her cooperation with Musk was like hitting a wall for two years, but every time Musk’s remarks or actions caused controversy, she often had to step in to clean up the mess.” Musk returned to the company and did not give any reason for Jacquelino’s sudden resignation, but the real reason seems to be obvious.
